In Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan Army on Thursday resorted to a major ceasefire violation on the Line of Control (LoC) at Mendhar sector in Poonch district. Pakistan started heavy firing from their forward posts at 6 pm on Thursday evening in forward area of Thamlot near Nangi Tekri in Mendhar sector using Rocket Projectile Guns (RPGs) and other automatic weapons including Machine Guns. According to official sources troops on this side exercised restraint but when things went beyond the limits, they gave a suitable response to Pakistani firing. Heavy exchange of firing continued for more than 40 minutes. There were no casualties on Indian side in firing from Pakistan side.
