In J&K, main opposition National Conference led by former CM Omar Abdullah called on Home Minister Rajnath Singh. Ruling PDP delegation also met Home Minister. Earlier, Rajnath Singh visited police and para military camps in south Kashmir's Anantnag District. Home Minister reached District Police Lines and also visited CRPF's 90 Ban Camp in the district. He interacted with the police and CRPF personnel and had informal personal interface with the jawans.<br/><br/>Appreciating the role of Jammu Kashmir Police, Rajnath Singh said J&K Police personnel are a brave proud force who are working in extremely challenging conditions in Kashmir. He said the centre has approved funds for opening a Trauma Centre for the police personnel. Rajnath Singh said the Centre has allocated funds for purchase of Bullet Proof vehicles for Jammu Kashmir Police. Home Minister also remembered ASI Abdul Rasheed and Constable Imtiyaz on the occasion saying their supreme sacrifices were made for Kashmir.<br/><br/>Rajnath Singh during his visit to CRPF Camp complimented para military personnel for their hard work, dedication and sacrifices. Rajnath Singh, who is currently on 4 day visit to J&K, held series of meetings with state government functionaries and various delegations on the 1st day of his visit yesterday. He held extensive discussion on various political, security and developmental issues with the State Governor NN Vohra, chief minister Mehbooba Mufti and also reviewed over 80 thousand crore Prime Minister's Development Package (PMDP) for J&K during a high level meeting in Srinagar yesterday.<br/> <br/>This is the Union Home Minister's 5th visit to the State within a year or so. Prior to arrival in Kashmir, Rajnath Singh had said that he was visiting Kashmir with an open mind and willing to interact with anyone who wanted to help in resolving the problems facing Kashmir. Around 35 delegations comprising various social, trade, travel and business organizations from across Kashmir met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh yesterday and apprised him about the varied problems relating to their respective organizations and also submitted memoranda for redressal. Rajnath Singh will also review security situation in the state while more delegations are meeting him during the day.
