J&K: Normal life remains affected across the valley for 4th consecutive day

In Jammu & Kashmir, normal life across the Valley remains affected for the 4th consecutive day. <br/><br/>Shops, business establishments, courts, petrol pumps and markets are closed in Srinagar. The attendance in government, semi government offices and private offices is largely affected. The public transport is off the roads.<br/><br/>One youth who sustained bullet injuries at Bijbehara in Anantnag yeaterday has succumbed to his injuries late last night." Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has said the police and paramilitary forces have been asked to exercise maximum restraint to avoid loss of civilian lives or grievous injuries. She also sought cooperation from cross section of people to help the government in restoring peace and normalcy. <br/><br/>The Centre has rushed additional twelve companies of para military force, CRPF. 800 more CRPF personnel are being rushed to the Valley.<br/><br/>Meanwhile an official at Jammu Camp told AIR that another batch of Amarnath yatris will leave Jammu late afternoon today. After remaining suspended for three days due to prevailing law and order situation, a fresh batch of about 2400 Amarnath pilgrims left yesterday afternoon towards Baltal and Pahalgam base camps in Kashmir. State Police chief said about 23000 stranded pilgrims and tourists were facilitated to proceed towards Jammu in over 1700 vehicles. Till yesterday evening, over One Lakh 33 Thousand yatris paid obeisance at Amarnath Cave shrine and had darshan of ice lingam.
