In Jammu & Kashmir, people are experiencing chill due to latest spell of rains in Srinagar, snowfall in the upper mountainous reaches of Kashmir Valley for the past couple of days. This has led to the decrease in the day and night temperatures. MeT department has predicted light rain or snow likely to continue during next about two days across Valley and elsewhere in the State.<br/><br/>Besides rainfall in Srinagar, several south Kashmir areas including Mughal Road and other areas in Shopian district, ski resort Gulmarg and upper reaches of Banihal, Jawahar Tunnel, Ramban and Patnitop areas have experienced fresh rains and snowfall . <br/><br/>Fresh rains and snowfall at Digdol, Battery Chashma and Panthyal in Banihal-Ramban sector along the Srinagar-Jammu national highway triggered landslides and shooting stones that forced authorities to suspend all types of vehicular movement on both sides today. <br/><br/>The Valley residents were forced to wear heavy woollen clothes again as people experienced dry and warm temperatures for about a week before latest spell of rain and snowfall in the Valley. A senior Traffic Department official told AIR that travellers must contact Traffic Control Units in Srinagar, Ramban and Jammu about the status of the road before starting their journey.
