J&K National Highway closed for traffic following heavy snowfall

The Jammu Srinagar National Highway has been closed for traffic following heavy snowfall at various places along 300 kilometers stretch. Chief Engineer Border Road Organisation Brig. T P S Rawat told AIR that men and machines of BRO are working round the clock to clear the snow and restore the traffic on the highway. AIR correspondent reports, more than 400 vehicles including trucks, private and public vehicles were stranded on national highway of the heavy snowfall which cut off Kashmir Valley outer world on third consecutive day today. Meanwhile, BRO is on the job to clear road covered with three to 5 feet snow at Patnitop, Banihal, Jawahar tunnel and gateway of Kashmir Qazigund area.
