Jammu and Kashmir Minister of State Shabir Ahmad Khan has said that it is the endeavour of the coalition government to make the Jammu and Kashmir a cent percent literate State. Addressing a conference on ‘ Importance of Modern Education’ at Nagoor in Rajashtan he said in this regard the State Government is marching fast to achieve the goal. He said that equipping children with modern education is need of hour for socio-economic transformation of the society as well as peace and prosperity of the country.<br/><br/> The Minister said that implementation of the historic Right to Education Act in all over the country, is a land mark contribution of UPA Government headed by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.<br/><br/> Speaking about the initiatives taken by Jammu and Kashmir Government for upgrading educational scenario in the State, the Minister said hundreds of new Schools have been opened and existing ones upgraded to enhance the reach of students to higher education.
