J&K: Lt Guv gives suggestions for effective implementation of NEP in transforming higher education across Country

<span style="color: #222222;">In Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha yesterday gave his valuable suggestions for effective implementation of National Education Policy in transforming higher education across the Country.<br />''<br />''AIR correspondent reports that the LG was speaking at the Governors' Conference on the Role of NEP-2020 in Transforming Higher Education. Emphasizing on the importance of integrated development of children, the LG suggested that extra-curricular activities such as NSS, NCC, Sports and Music need to be made part of the curriculum and students should get credit for these activities. <br />''<br />''He observed that NEP could be effectively implemented if institutions are given freedom to redefine teaching positions as per need. He stressed the need to lay special emphasis on Students' feedback on teaching and observed that our priorities guide all policies and our policy decisions guide our destiny.<br />''<br />''Mr Sinha said that education is the biggest catalyst for change. When education is the guiding force behind human development, humans are no longer limited to a resource. They become assets for the society, he said. He further said that J&K is a land of extremely talented people and the youth have excelled in every field.<br />''<br />''Today, when we are witnessing a new dawn in J&K, we want the youth to be the pioneers of change and the New Education Policy will help them realize their true potential and make their dreams come true, the LG added.</span><br />
