In Jammu and Kashmir, the Union Territory Administration is running a unique programme to enhance transparency in the land records maintenance system. The initiative – 'Aapki Zameen Aapki Nigrani' (AZAN) – is aimed at facilitating easy online access to the system to view or monitor the status of revenue records. Citizens no longer need to visit the offices for obtaining information about their land. AZAN has empowered them to check their land records on CIS Portal - http://landrecords.jk.gov.in/.
