In honour of the 69th Republic Day celebrations, a mega event of Ice Hockey was organised at Karzoo in Leh town of Ladakh Region in Jammu and Kashmir last night. The event was organised by the Ladakh Winter Sports Club on natural ice in open rink at below sub zero temperature. The administration erected a pole to provide electricity to the event. Despite freezing temperatures at around minus 11.5 degree Celsius, people in large number defying the harsh weather attended the event to witness the Republic Day celebrations . An exhibition match of Ice Hockey between the runners teams of just concluded Ladakh Winter Sports Clubs Ice Hockey tournament – Skara Club and Daredevil Ice Hockey team was played to mark the occasion. Women ice hockey players also displayed stunts in Ice Skating and Figure skating on the occasion.
