In Jammu and Kashmir, the far flung areas of Kargil District like Drass, Snakoo, and Chiktan Batalik have been cut-off from the District Headquarters due to heavy snowfall in the whole district. Kargil District is experiencing heavy snowfall.The farmers are happy as in the whole winter season Kargil remained dry. The snowfall till February is good for water storage for summer season.
