<span style="color: #222222;">Jammu & Kashmir Administrative Council (JKAC) under the chairmanship of LG, G C Murmu, gave a go ahead today to the recruitment of 2000 Panchayat Accounts Assistants. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">AIR Correspondent reports that the decision will strengthen the functioning of Panchayati Raj Institutions in the Union Territory. The recruitment to these posts will be restricted to the domiciles of J&K and shall be done in accordance to relevant recruitment rules. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The selection will be made through Services Selection Recruitment Board (SSRB), on the basis of merit determined through a written test only as shall be no interviews in the recruitment process to these posts. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">With the enhancement in responsibilities of Panchayats and significant increase in devolution of funds to these local government bodies, posting of the Panchayat Accounts Assistants will help in proper maintenance of accounts and booking of expenditure in Panchayats.</span>
