Jammu and Kashmir proposed center to establish 17 trauma Centres in the State. This was stated by J&K Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Sham Lal Sharma in the Assembly on Wednesday. He said that the Government has adopted population norms for plain and hilly areas for setting up of various health institutions adding under these norms Sub District Hospital Community Health Centre is established in plain areas having population of 1.20 lakh and in hilly areas having a population of 80, 000.The Minister said that opening and upgradation of health institutions are considered on the recommendations of the concerned District Development Board decisions, besides, keeping in view the feasibility, norms and available resources.
