The Jammu and Kashmir government has released an amount of 21 crore rupees under State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF). The money has been released to meet the immediate requirement of the victims who suffered due to natural calamities, including the recent hailstorm and flash floods in all the three regions of the State.
This was informed by the State Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Mr. Raman Bhalla at a high level meeting in Jammu yesterday. The Minister informed that the Government has also sanctioned 6 crore rupees in favour of Financial Commissioner, Relief for its further release to the respective Divisional Commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir divisions in equal share of 3 crore rupees each.
The meeting was also informed that 15.33 crore rupees has been released for meeting the pending liabilities on account of calamity relief in all the three regions of the State. Giving a brief breakup of the amount, Mr. Bhalla said 6.5 crore rupees will be spent for temporary restoration of public utilities damaged due to cloudburst and flash floods in Kargil.
Besides, for providing input subsidy in favour of Jammu, Kathua and Udhampur districts, the government has sanctioned 8.78 crores rupees in wake of incidence of hailstorm during the month of October 2010.
