In Jammu and Kashmir, a massive development programme has been launched across the State to reach out to every area for equitable development of the State. This was stated by J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah when delegations called on him on Sunday with their grievances and demands.Omar Abdullah said that besides upgrading facilities in the sectors of health, education, communication, water supply and power development, initiatives have been taken in the employment sector also.He said that a scheme to engage 50,000 youth in various government and semi-government organizations has been initiated and the orbit of Sher-i-Kashmir Employment and Welfare Programme for Youth has been expanded to bring more unemployed persons under its purview.The Chief Minister said that peace is imperative for all kinds of economic activities and sustained development. He sought the people’s cooperation in general and the cooperation from youth in particular in his efforts to lead the State towards progress and political stability.
