J&K Govt. keeps 400 crore plan lay-out under health department

The Jammu and Kashmir government has kept 400 crore rupee plan lay-out under health department for this year, while it was spending 251 crore under JNRUM to extend the vital health services to the rural people at their doorsteps. This was stated by Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Health Sham Lal Sharma while talking to AIR correspondent in Jammu. The Minister said the health sector in the state was being revamped and refurbished to cater to the needs of maximum population of the state. He said that focused attention was being paid on the implementation of the prestigious NRHM to ensure optimum results envisioned under the scheme. Throwing light on various reformative measures introduced in the department, Mr Sham said that the professional audit done early this year has helped greatly in streamlining the health services, besides posting of doctors and other staff in the health institutions.
