JK govt imposes lockdown in 11 districts till 7 am on Monday

In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, complete lockdown to be imposed in eleven districts beginning from 7 pm today and will remain in force till 7 am on 3rd of May in view of the alarming surge of the positive cases being reported nowadays. Among the twenty districts of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar district is the worst affected where cases continue to show an unabated rising trend.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">In view of the alarming surge in covid-19 cases across Jammu and Kashmir, the District Magistrates of 11 districts of the Union Territory announced an 84-hour complete lockdown beginning this evening from 7pm up to 7 am on 3rd May. The districts that will remain under complete lockdown include Jammu, Kathua, Reasi and Udhampur in Jammu Division and Srinagar, Ganderbal, Baramulla, Budgam, Pulwama, Kulgam and Anantnag in the Kashmir valley. Essential services will however be exempted from the restrictions of the lockdown. Meanwhile,  as many as 3023 fresh single-day spike in covid cases besides 30 fatalities was reported across Jammu and Kashmir during the past 24 hours.</span><br />
