J&K govt formation: Core group of J&K BJP to meet Shah

Members of the core group of Jammu and Kashmir BJP unit will meet Party’s National president Amit Shah in New Delhi today to discuss government formation in the state.

The latest political situation and emerging alignments for the government formation in the state are likely to be discussed in the meeting. Mr. Shah recently said in Bengaluru that BJP is looking at all possibilities and hoped that a decision will come anytime.

On the other hand, Peoples Democratic Party's chief spokesman Naeem Akhtar said that so far, no formal talks have been initiated with any political party for government formation. He said that the back channel contacts and consultations are going on.

National Conference working president Omar Abdullah has tweeted that his party is not discussing any sort of alliance with the BJP. State Governor N N Vohra has set 19th January deadline for formation of the government in the state.
