J&K govt dispels speculations, says letter issued to prevent any shortfall of essential commodities due to monsoon

<span style="color: #222222;">In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) has issued  a  statement regarding a letter written by Director, Food, Civil  Supplies and Consumer  Affairs, Kashmir to Nodal Coordinator for Oil companies in J&K. It said that the letter was written purely in connection with ensuring adequate stock of LPG in the Kashmir Valley.<br />''<br />''The Department in a statement yesterday said that the letter was issued to prevent any shortfall of essential commodities particularly LPG during the ensuing monsoon season in the event of closure of National Highway-44 during the rainy season.<br />''<br />''The statement further said that currently, the department maintains stock for  nearly a month in Kashmir.  It requested the LPG companies to explore the feasibility of maintaining the stock for nearly two months to prevent any panic situations that may arise in the event of  closure of the highway  for a longer duration.</span><br />
