J&K govt allocates 22 hectare land to set up Central University

The Jammu and Kashmir government has allocated 22 hectares land to higher education department for setting up central university of Kashmir. The decision was taken during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. The Cabinet also approved transfer of 1.5 hectare state land in Jammu district to Technical Education Department for construction of a sports stadium. Use of forest land for non-forestry purposes was also approved by the cabinet. It also approved allotment of land belonging to the J&K Industries Limited to the Finance Department for setting up Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
