J&K government has so far evacuated more than 89,000 residents, stranded outside the Union Territory due to COVID-19 lockdown. AIR Correspondent reports that till today 89,773 residents have been brought back through 28 COVID special trains, 4 flights besides scores of buses after strictly observing all necessary preventive measures regarding the novel Coronavirus.<br />''<br />''The UT has received 28 COVID special trains from different states and UTs, with about 23,097 stranded passengers at Jammu and Udhampur Railway Stations, while about 66,024 persons have been evacuated through Lakhanpur via road till date.<br />'' <br />''Meanwhile, about 652 passengers including students have reached Srinagar International Airport under 'Vande Bharat' mission through COVID special flights from abroad. Till today 11 special Shramik trains reached Jammu with 9634 stranded passengers while 13,463 passengers reached Udhampur in 17 special trains belonging to different districts of the UT. <br />''<br />''The UT administration has put in place elaborate arrangements and facilities for safe and successful boarding and de-boarding of returnees at Railway stations and airport and their journey towards their home districts. <br />''<br />''Besides, 100 per cent sampling of returnees is being done and it is ensured that the people in the administrative quarantine go home only after they are tested negative for the virus. <br />''<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The administration is strictly adhering to the guidelines issued by Union Home Ministry and Health Ministry regarding COVID-19 and it is being ensured that during the boarding and de-boarding process the passengers observe social distancing and wear masks.</span><br />
