A team of Central officials led by Home Secretary Anil Goswami is leaving for Srinagar today to coordinate relief and rescue operations in the city.
Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office Jitendra Singh is already camping in the city to review the operations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had last night directed the Home Ministry to send senior officers from Delhi and other states to coordinate relief operations with local administration in flood-hit Srinagar.
After reviewing relief operations in the State at a high level meeting in New Delhi he had stressed on providing basic necessities like food and water to people severely affected by the calamity.
