In Jammu and Kashmir, one lakh ten thousand people have been rescued so far by the Armed Forces and NDRF from different parts of the flood-affected state.
A Defence Ministry release said, one more group of marine commandos with rubberised inflatable crafts, out board motors, compressors, diving sets and satellite phones reached Srinagar.
Arrangements are also being made for repair and maintenance of motor boats and helicopters used in rescue operations.
Border Roads Organisation has restored connectivity on road between Banihal and Pampore for light vehicles. Road till Srinagar is expected to be opened in a week's time.
Specialised Army Engineer and Communication detachments and equipment are being air lifted from Jammu, Udhampur and other places to facilitate restoration of water supply, telecommunication and bridge construction in the valley.
Four field hospitals have been established in Awantipora, Pattan, Anantnag and Old Airfield. One more hospital will be set up in Srinagar to boost medical assistance to the flood affected people in the city.
Thirteen tonnes of water purifying tablets and six water filtration plants with a capacity to filter 1.2 lakh bottles per day is being transported to Srinagar.
