In Jammu and Kashmir, a gun battle broke out between security forces and militants in Shopian district today. Police said, security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Kaddar forest area of Kellar, 50 kms from Srinagar, following information about presence of militants in the area. As the search operation was on, the hiding militants opened fire at the security forces triggering an encounter. There is no report of any casualty so far.
