<span style="color: #222222;">In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the summer capital, Srinagar, has been witnessing significant development in several areas in the last two years.<br />''<br />''In an exclusive interview with AIR News, District Magistrate, Mohammad Aijaz Assad, said the steps taken by the administration have resulted in improved delivery of basic public services, infrastructure development, and employment generation. He said the administration was able to provide employment to nearly 45,000 youth in the last two years. Mr Aijaz said the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Program(PMEGP) has seen an increase in achievements by 500 percent. The administration has provided property cards to the residents of the city, making them eligible to avail of loans from banks. It has also distributed land passbooks to all the households.<br />''<br />''The District Magistrate said a number of flyovers have been completed to decongest traffic in the city and work on a few more is in progress. He said work is also underway on the Outer Ring road project with an estimated cost of 1,420 crore rupees. Mr. Aijaz said the administration is working on a 133-crore rupees project to improve drainage system in the city. He informed that a 500-bedded maternity and children's hospital in Bemina is on the verge of completion at a cost of 114 crore rupees. An additional gynecology block at Lal Ded Hospital is also being built at an estimated cost of 132 crore rupees. The District Magistrate said three gas-insulated power stations have been set up to ensure a more reliable power supply in the city during the winter season. </span><br />
