Deputy Speaker of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Mr. Sartaj Madni on Thursday announced his resignation from the post of Deputy Speakership. Mr. Madni who belongs to main opposition party PDP in a press release circulated to all the media agencies has accused the Speaker Mohammed Akbar Lone of behaving in a partisan manner and not following established parliamentary practices and traditions in running the House. The resignation of Deputy Speaker has come in the wake of remarks made by the Speaker published in a Local daily wherein he had dubbed Mr. Madni as the spokesperson of the main opposition party PDP for defending the ruckus created by PDP members in the House on Monday.
