Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today sought people's support in pulling the state out of violence and bloodshed. She was talking to reporters in Srinagar after paying homage to the martyrs of 1931.<br/><br/>Expressing sadness on the recent killings in the Kashmir Valley, Ms Mufti said, the biggest tribute to the martyrs would be to protect the state's dignity and democracy which became a reality because of their huge sacrifice.<br/><br/>The Chief Minister appealed the people not to fall prey to the machinations of those elements who want to disturb peace in the state.<br/><br/>The state observes Martyrs' Day on this day. In 1931, the then state forces had killed some people protesting outside a jail premises in Srinagar, where one Abdul Qadeer was tried on charges of terrorism and inciting public against the Maharaja of Kashmir.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, normal life continues to remain affected across the Kashmir Valley. Curfew-like restrictions have been imposed in several areas. AIR correspondent reports that mobile internet and train services continued to remain suspended.
