Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has reiterated his government’s determination to upgrade and expand health service facilities across the State. Addressing a public meeting in border district of Rajouri after inaugurating the upgraded hospital in Rajouri yesterday, Mr Omar said that Healthy Jammu and Kashmir is his priority and measures were afoot to realize this goal. The Chief Minister said that health is the basic ingredient of life and good health symbolizes good civilization in all respects. Omar Abdullah said that while steps are being taken to upgrade health facility in the cities and towns, various measures have been initiated to strengthen the medical service at district and village levels. Raina reports from Jammu that the Chief Minister said that the next four years of the coalition government would concentrate on putting development process on fast track ensuring equitable development of all areas to realize the goal of prosperous Jammu and Kashmir. He said peace and tranquillity was imperative to achieve this target. Making people aware of the conspiracies certain quarters hatch to destabilize the communal harmony and peaceful atmosphere, the Chief Minister asked the people to maintain brotherhood and harmony under all circumstances and work for its further strengthening.
