Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today called on Home Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi. The meeting came in the backdrop of recent clashes between local and outstation students inside the campus of NIT Srinagar during India- West Indies match in the T20 World Cup. The situation worsened last week when outstation students tried to take out a march outside the campus but were stopped by the police leading to lathicharge by the police. <br/><br/>Talking to media after the meeting, Ms. Mehbooba said the NIT issue should not be seen as outsider versus insider. She said the students have sought time to prepare for examination as they could not concentrate following the incident and the HRD Ministry is looking into it.
