Pin pointing the necessity of fast tracking development projects and bringing in more transparency in awarding contracts for works, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah flagged e-tendering one of the important measures in this direction. Chairing the meeting of J&K State Rural Road Development Agency (SRRDA) in Jammu, the Chief Minister directed the Roads & Buildings Department to study various e-tendering models and select a befitting one with all required fool proof securities. He asked the State Public Works department toinitiate this practice and take to e-tendering for works of above Rs. 5 crore to start with adding that the PMGSY schemes could be short listed for the purpose.
