Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has lauded the role of State Police in containing the militancy and maintaining law and order in the sensitive State.Addressing a passing out parade of new recruits at Police Training School, Sheeri in Baramulla district, the Chief Minister, however, urged police and other security forces to exercise maximum restraint while dealing with law and order situation. He sought support from all sections of people in consolidating peace. Later talking to media persons, the Chief Minister reiterated that proposed BJP plan of hoisting national flag at Lal Chowk in the Srinagar city on 26th January was uncalled for as flag hoisting cermonies will be held in all districts of the Valley. He said that this plan can create tension and disturb peace and he will be discussing with the Centre how to deal with it. He appealed to BJP to reconsider its decision.
