J&K CM assures people of backward areas to upgrade basic amenities of life

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah today assured the people of backward and remote areas of the State of the earnestness of his government in upgrading basic amenities of life in these areas. He said that balanced development of all the areas, especially, those left under-developed have been given a priority in policy planning of the government. The Chief Minister was talking to various deputations who called on him in Jammu today. He said that he is himself monitoring the pace on various developmental works underway in the districts, especially, in remote areas through video conferencing adding the monitoring cell in his office keeps him abreast with all the progress taking place across the State on various works. Mr. Omar said that special attention is being paid to give considerable fillip to works in the remote areas and to launch new schemes of wide ranging benefits. The Chief Minister further stated that the government is coming up with an intensive programme for the development of State’s official language, Urdu. He said that the shortage of Urdu teachers in schools across the State is a matter of serious concern adding the Government is endeavoring to redress the same by appointing Urdu teachers in all primary schools.
