In the Kashmir valley, a multipurpose sports faculty, all under one roof, was inaugurated by Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Mehta in a rousing ceremony held at Sher-i-Kashmir Indoor Sports Complex in Srinagar today. The multipurpose faculty named Srinagar Sports Club will be the first of its kind, all in one sports facility for Billiards, Snooker, Chess, Carrom, Table Tennis, Yoga, Sports Library and Nutrition and Entrepreneurship.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Secretary appreciated the efforts of the J&K Sports Council and said that the initiative is aimed towards bringing the athletes under one roof for developing a healthy ecosystem. He said that the club will go a long way in fostering the bonds between athletes of varied backgrounds and pave way for the overall development of the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.

Mr Mehta said that during winters, the club and adjoining stadium will become a hub of sports and youth activities.
