In Jammu and Kashmir, the Navratra festival is being celebrated at Katra, the base camp of Vaishnodevi Shrine with religious fervour and gaiety from today. J&K Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand will inaugurate the Navratra Festival at Katra. There is much fanfare in Katra during Navratra festival and the inflow of tourists also increases manifold during Navratras. ‘Navratri’, which literallymeans nine nights, is observed twice a year. Our correspondent reports that amid chanting of Bhajans of Maa Vaishno , devotees of Mata, coming from all over the country are pouring in Katra, the base Camp of Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine for their onward journey to the Holy Shrine. Since it is a wish of every devotee of Mata to have HER Darshans during the Holy Navratras, the pilgrims after paying their regards at the Holy Shrine feel elated and enthusiastic as Maa Vaishno has blessed them with Her Darshans. Keeping in view the heavy rush of pilgrims, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and State Police have made elaborate security arrangements for the visiting devotees. The atmosphere in Katra, the base Camp of Holy Shrine is electric. The same atmosphere is also being seen in Bawe Wali Mata in Jammu, Kol Kandoli, Nagrota and Chi Chi Mata in Samba.
