J&K bandh observed in protest against killing of Sikhs

A bandh is being observed in Jammu in protest against the killing of two members of Sikh community by Taliban in Pakistan’s tribal belt in Khyber region. The call for the bandh has been given by various Sikh Organisations.<br/><br/>The bandh call given by Sikh Organisations has been supported by various political, non-political and social organisations. <br/><br/>All the shops and business establishments are closed. Attendance in Government offices is very thin and many educational institutions are closed. Vehicular movement has been affected by the bandh which has affected the attendance in Government offices. <br/><br/>No untoward incident has so far been reported from any part of Jammu city though there are reports that some Sikh youth forced the shopkeepers to down their shutters in some markets. <br/><br/>While terming the killing of two Sikhs as barbaric and inhuman, the organizations have asked Union Government to ask Pakistan to ensure the protection of minorities in its country.
