Jammu and Kashmir has been selected for national e-Governance award for 2014-15 for best district level initiative in the country. The e-Panchayat project was launched in the state to strengthen 147 Panchayats. Under the project, a decentralised regime of Panchayats has been established with service delivery shifted from block level to Panchayat level. The awards will be presented by Ministry of Personnel during National Conference on e-governance scheduled to be held at Gandhinagar in Gujarat later this month.
