In Jammu & Kashmir, authorities today disallowed assembly of people at the residence cum Hurriyat Headquarter of hard line separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani at Hyderpora in uptown Srinagar, triggering clashes between Geelani's supporters and the police. <br/><br/>Reports said the people, mostly workers of Geelani led Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) party were converging to participate in what was labeled as "Raising Day Convention", which was scheduled to be addressed by Geelani and his colleagues. Reports said TeH General Secretary Ashraf Sehrai led a sit-in protest at Srinagar Airport road. Clashes took place between Geelani's supporters and police, which used force to chase away road-blockers.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent quotes Hurriyat spokesman Ayaz Akbar as saying that Tehreek-e-Hurriyat General Secretary Ashraf Sehrai besides Bashir Ahmad Laya, Syed Imtiyaz Hyder and other party leaders were arrested by Police.
