J&K: Army running tuition classes for Gujjar and Bakarwal children in Reasi & Rajouri districts

In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Army has undertaken a noble initiative of running tuition classes for Gujjar and Bakarwal children in the higher reaches and medows of far- flung villages in Rajouri and Reasi districts.<br />''<br />''AIR correspondent reports that the Army is running tuition classes at Banj, Richh Bagla, Ichni, Makhidhar, Dhakikot, Kalaban, Chakal Hawalan, Balmatkot and Shikari areas in Reasi and Rajouri districts. Due to the migration of Deras of Gujjar and Bakarwals, with the onset of summers in April and May every year, to the higher reaches of Pir Panjal Mountain Range in search of greener pastures for their livestock, the prime sufferers are the children who have to remain absent from their schools for six to eight months.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #000000;">Considering their difficulties, the Army is running tuition classes in the higher mountain reaches for the students of both the community that will continue till October. A large number of students at each location are being benefited by this initiative through which it is ensured that children of these regions have access to education and regain their interest in studies. <br />''<br />''The Civil Administration has acknowledged this exceptional inventiveness and conveyed their appreciation for the wholehearted efforts of the Army.</span><br />
