In the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the Army on 23rd Dec 2023, Saturday announced full support and cooperation in the investigation into the death of three civilians near Thursday's site of the terror attack at Dera Ki Gali in Surankote tehsil of Poonch district in which four soldiers were martyred and two others were injured while the administration announced compensation and jobs for dependents of the deceased.<br />''<br />''Mobile internet services were shut down in the twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch from the wee hours yesterday even as the situation remained peaceful. However, security forces have intensified search operations in mountainous areas and other places to track down the terrorists behind the attack. Helicopters, drones and para commandos have been deployed in the search operations. According to reports security forces are targeting natural caves in Pir Panjal mountains and other upper reaches following reports that about 30 foreign terrorists who are active in the twin border districts have taken shelter there. Besides other suspected hideous, forests and vulnerable areas are also being served jointly by the Army, paramilitary forces and J&K police.<br />''<br />''Additional police and para-military personnel have been deployed in sensitive pockets of twin districts to maintain peace.
