<span style="color: #222222;">In Jammu and Kashmir, the administration has achieved a progress of more than 62 per cent in the implementation of projects sanctioned under the Prime Minister's Development Package (PMDP). Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports an outlay of 80,068 crore rupees, PMDP was announced in the year 2015. The PMDP initially included 63 major infrastructure projects across roads, power, health, tourism and other key sectors aimed at bridging the development gap in the former State. In 2019 when J&amp;K was bifurcated into two union territories, 53 projects worth 58,477 crore rupees were allocated to the UT of J&amp;K, with the remaining going to Ladakh. 33 out of total 53 projects have been completed till December, which makes a progress of more than 62 percent in the implementation of PMDP in J&amp;K. An amount of 45,448 crore rupees has been utilised out of the total 46,981 crore rupees released for these 53 projects. Major projects under the PMDP include all-weather roads, power infrastructure, health institutes, tourism facilities as well as flood management and rehabilitation works. The UT administration is working 'tirelessly' to ensure the completion of these projects in limited time as both the UT governments are monitoring these projects, which are aimed at fulfilling the developmental needs of people of J&amp;K.</span><br />
