In Jammu & Kashmir, four terrorists and two army jawans were killed in an encounter early this morning in Frisal area of Kulgam district. Defence Spokesperson Rajesh Kalia told AIR that Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Frisal area in the wee hours following information about presence of a group of terrorists in the area. He said, as the security forces were closing in on the position of the terrorists, the ultras opened firing resulting in injuries to five soldiers. <br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that two soldiers succumbed to injuries before they could be evacuated for treatment while three jawans were airlifted to Army's 92 base hospital in Srinagar and their condition is stated to be stable.T he security forces returned fire, ensuing in a fierce gunbattle that lasted several hours in which four terrorists were killed. The search operation is still in progress. Huge quantity of arms and ammunition has been recovered from the possession of the slain terrorists whose identify is yet being ascertained.
