J&K: 3 terrorists, 1 civilian killed in encounter at Batamaloo area in Srinagar

<span style="color: #222222;">In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, three terrorists and one civilian were killed in an encounter that broke out between terrorists and security forces at Batamaloo area in the outskirts of Srinagar city today.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">According to police, a joint team of security forces comprising J&K Police and Central  Reserve  Police  Force (CRPF) launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Batamaloo  following  intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">As the joint team approached the suspected spot, terrorists fired upon the security forces who retaliated and in the encounter, three terrorists were killed who were identified as locals hailing from south Kashmir. Arms and ammunition have also been recovered from their possession.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">A 45 year old woman identified as Kounsar Riyaz of Batamaloo was also killed in the cross-firing and a Deputy Commandant of 117 Bn of CRPF was critically injured and was shifted to hospital for treatment.  <br />''<br />''Meanwhile, Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh said that 165 terrorists have been killed in Kashmir and 12 in Jammu region. Among them, 22 were foreign terrorists. He added that twenty terrorists who had joined different terrorist ranks have been brought back into the mainstream this year.</span><br />''
