Two militants were killed in an encounter with security forces near the Line of Control in Macchil Sector of Kashmir Valley.

An Army spokesman told PTI that in the wee hours today two unknown terrorists were killed in an encounter with troops.

Two AK-47 rifles and one UBGL(Under Barrel Grenade Launcher) along with other war-like stores were recovered from the site. It was not immediately clear whether the slain militants were infiltrating from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir or were already operating locally. The operation in Macchil sector was still in progress, when reports last came in.
