In Jammu and Kashmir, two army men have been martyred and three others injured in an ongoing encounter in Awneora area of south Kashmir's Shopian district. A senior police spokesman told AIR that the anti terrorists operation was launched last evening and is still continuing. However, no terrorists has been killed yet in the encounter so far. Reports suggest that around five terrorists are holed up in the area. <br/><br/><br/>The encounter had erupted after cordon and search operation was launched on the basis of specific information about the presence of terrorists in the area. In Jammu and Kashmir, two army jawan were martyred and three others, including a captain, injured in an encounter with militants in Shopian district of south Kashmir today. A police official said, security forces launched a cordon and search operation following information about presence of militants in Avneera village of Zainapora area of the district. <br/><br/><br/>He said as the security forces were conducting searches, the militants opened firing on them which was retaliated by the army personnel, triggering a gunfight. He said, five soldiers were injured in the gun battle and they were evacuated to the 92 Base Hospital of the Army for treatment, where two among them succumbed to their injuries. <br/>
