J&K: 13 labourers trapped as under-construction tunnel collapses on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Ramban district

<span style="color: #222222;">In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, a part of an under-construction tunnel collapsed on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Ramban district last night.<br />''<br />'' One person lost his life and 13 labourers were trapped in this incident. AIR correspondent reports that three workers were rescued while nine workers are still trapped inside the tunnel. <br />''<br />''A joint rescue operation was launched immediately by Police and Army. Several machines and vehicles, including bulldozers and trucks, which were parked on the front side of the tunnel also suffered damages. Those trapped inside the tunnel belong to the company conducting the work of auditing the tunnel.<br />''<br />''Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Jammu Zone, Mukesh  Singh and Jammu Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar visited site of incident at Ramban to monitor the rescue operations.<br />''<br />'' Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh termed the collapse of a part of the under-construction tunnel on the national highway stretch between Ramban and Ramsu as unfortunate. He said, he is in constant touch with Deputy Commissioner, Ramban and other senior officers. Rescue operations are going on in full swing and Civil Administration and Police authorities are monitoring the situation. More details are awaited.</span><br />
