In the Kashmir Valley, 12 infiltrators were killed in a fierce encounter at line of control in Gurez Sector. An official spokesman told our Srinagar Correspondent Bashir Malik that six bodies have been recovered as the other six were drowned in the river Kishan Ganga. He said that one Lieutenant Nawdeep Singh also laid down his life while as two jawans were injured. He further said that a large quantity of arms and ammunition including 5 AK-47 riffles, 1- Pistol, 2 wireless sets, 50 Hand – granades and other ammunitions has been recovered from the encounter site. Two boats have also been recovered from the militants which they used to cross the Kishan Ganga river. This is for the first time that boats have been recovered from the militants.
