In Jammu and Kashmir, one militant was today killed when a gunbattle broke out between ultras and security forces near the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu division. Acting on a tip off, troops of 39 Rashtriya Rifles and Special Operation Group of police launched a cordon and search operation in Salwa forest belt in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district early this morning. The militants opened fire on the security forces who also retaliated which resulted in a fierce gunbattle between the two sides in which one militant got killed. The deceased militant has been identified as Abu Ibrar alias Mistri. According to Senior Superintendent of Police, Poonch, two militants are still trapped. So far One UBGL, one AK rifle along with four magazines has been recovered from the site of encounter.
