Union Science and Technology Dr Jitendra Singh on Friday emphasised that the e-governance initiatives should be citizen centric and increase transparency and accountability. Addressing the 24th National Conference on e- Governance in Hyderabad this morning, the minister stressed the need for right and optimum use of e-governance initiatives especially in the post Covid era. The minister said the purpose of e- governance is to bring ease of life for common citizens.<br />'' <br />''He said the e-governance initiatives taken during the past few years, has provided flexy timings and helped people especially employees during COVID pandemic. He also felt that e-learning has been strengthened during the COVID time. Stating that the over 27 lakh e-files are there in the central Government whereas 10 lakh physical files are existing, the government has gone nearly paperless during the pandemic. Over grievances and redressal, the Minister said the linking of Centralised Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System with that of the states is almost done realising Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for one nation-one portal.<br />'' <br />''Speaking on the occasion, Telangana IT Minister K Taraka Ramarao has urged the centre to revisit the policy and sanction Hyderabad the Information Technology Investment Region, two more Electronics Manufacturing Clusters to the state and a National Space Centre under the InSpace policy.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Speaking to AIR News, Secretary Administrative Reforms, V Srinivas informed that Hyderabad Declaration to take administrative reforms and IT initiatives to the next level.</span>
