In Odisha, Jindal Steel and Power Limited will commission the first phase of the steel plant in Angul district by March next year. The plant will have a capacity of producing 20 million tonnes, a year.Speaking to media persons at Bhubaneswar, Vice-chairman of the firm Naveen Jindal, said the company has decided to increase the capacity of the steel plant from 6 milion tons to 20 million in the next 10 years. He said a 2 million tonne steel plant will be ready within a year. On the rehabilitation package to the displaced person, Jindal said it will be a showcase for the others.Earlier, he met Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and discussed the project.The Union Ministry of Environment and Forests had recently given a go ahead nod to the steel project with some hard conditions.
