Jharkhand forest department is working on a new five year plan to contain forest fires, for which the Central Government will provide 6 crores rupees, covering 75% cost of the project while the remaining 25% will be provided by the state government. Speaking to media persons, the Additional Chief Conservator of Forests of Jharkhand, U.R Biswas revealed the plan, according to which there would be a Forest Fire Crisis Management Cell in the forest department. It will work in coordination with the Forest Survey of India, Deharadun, which would send satellite images of fire in any parts of the state. Following which the dedicated fire fighting squads of the concerned area would be activated to contain and extinguish the fire.
