Jharkhand to bid for hosting SAF games in Ranchi

Jharkhand government has decided to take part in the bid to host next year South Asian Federation, SAF, Games in Ranchi.The decision was taken in a Cabinet meeting, in which it was also decided to develop 15 stadiums in the state as Centers of Excellence and open a Sports Academy. Speaking to media at Ranchi, State Cabinet Secretary told reporters that the bid for hosting SAF games would done through Jharkhand Olympic Association.SAF Games are a bi-annual multi-sport event held among the athletes from South Asia.The first South Asian Games were hosted by Kathmandu, Nepal in 1983 and have since been held every two years.
